Supercomputer Embarks on Effort to Help Map the Universe, Dark Energy and All
A national laboratory in California, armed with a powerful supercomputer, is set to create a highly detailed, three-dimensional map of the universe. The customized HPE Cray EX supercomputer from Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. was installed recently at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center, a U.S. Department of Energy facility. NERSC is located at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in Berkeley, Calif.
